who do we think pans out from this class ? draft big board of sorts
rankings as to who i would want the next few years ..........to me this is a top heavy class where the 5 stars will pan out and the ones who aren't we will have some struggles. my sleepers - haddad. like jordyn woods, carter from fl has the highest ceiling of the dl, and west might be the best rb

tier 1 - high nfl draft picks
Sanchez - I think he is the best corner on the roster next year as a frosh. first thing that stands out is natural ball skills - first play elite height super comfortable turning head and playing ball high pointing it like a receiver. His go ball defense is simply the best in the country. has what you can't teach - the natural gifts of playing the ball instincts size and ability that are top 10 nfl draft picks. - don't see a lot of run tackling plays - but similar to deion; those gifted corners don't really need too. He literally looks like deion when the ball is in the air
Tavian st clair - we know about this guy.
Cody haddad - instincts instincts instincts ! Lineage from nfl parents - folks haddad has elite instincts awareness - which is my number one key in evaluating players. This is like a rangy kueckly who can play db - really underrated ball skills, and athletcisim. Sound player - can pass off one route to the route behind it by anticipating the play. Triggers on the run - sees the plays coming. Takes the perfect angles. This kid is what I call a ballplayer.
Riley pettijon - sideline to sidelon demon, This guy would have had the ability to cover the texas rb that styles couldn’t. -Best basketball dunker on team day one. His power from his butt down that you see in basketball you see on the field. Just makes quick plants and first steps, and explosive closes on the ball - obviously speed in between -but the change of acceleration and tempo to increase his speed when needed stands out. Nothing about him is tight - no tight hips - very fluid, flowing, - which is the biggest differentiator for him compared to other athletic backers. With his hips I don't know how a lineman locks him up, but if he does get hands on him in a box defending the run - at his size and arhaetype - not a classic box defender. Could be in conversation for most athletic linebacker ever at ohio state even with guys like shazier
Faheem delane - - elite elite balance and core stability, like a troy polomau - just can put his foot in the ground with short choppy steps and change directions so easily that makes him a killer tackler and run defender in the box. He is like a plus linebacker on the field; instincts for it, everything. His pass d I certainly can't tell from film, but it doesn't need to be great because his niche and role he is elite at. Similar to polomau. Will be an elite blitzer, and distruptor, and guy whos pluses outweight his minuses.
Quincy porter - loved a go ball play where he has an elite change of pace in the middle of the route; still going straight but slows down like a point guard then speeds up again. Great stop and start. Really good awareness when ball is in the air how to get open. not a bryson rodgers cutting corners sharply on crisp routes - but he knows how to get open. Decent strider. Good size, crafty after catch, sets up blocks and good vision. Just a baller. Top wr at all american bowl

Tier 2 - quality offers - key contributors starters and key impactful reserves
Maxwell roy - wrestler; really good dt. I like him. starter probably.
Nate roberts - tight end from oklahoma - looks like klare, really nice receiver; looks like a mean blocker too. only 5 plays of run blocking but absolute viscous. think hes rated similarly to the other tight end from ohio we got glennon - i like this guy alot better
Jordyn woods - tall raw corner rangy - flipped from cincy - film shows great eyes and instincts for understanding gap responsibilitys and anticipation which is the most important thing I can think of. Film lacking of any detailed coverage routes in man; but he looks the part to me.
Zion grady - don't see a stud here; but decent player. will play alot due to the position and our lack of depth. The ohio dend to penn state i think might be better
Carter lowe - film was 50 feet deep from a tower; i'll trust the hype.
Jarquez carter - dt from gainesville; super small school but all the florida recruited him. …….quicker off the ball then roy; plays de and dt in high school…..270 pound lighter dt; can he stop the run as a dt ? He does show great leverage and bend on the line to get super low……Carries his body so well, light on feet, best feet and get off of any of the dl in the class if he can add weight could be a mini sapp……highest upside guy on the line
isiah west - Ilike west more then rogers; very james peoplish shuttle and agility.
De'zie jones - this kid is not flashy; but looks savvy, and solid. I like him. Jerry rice type. This is the type of kid penn state can't lose.
Phillip bell - this is the brandon innis guy on the roster. The hines ward. Shorter guy; but tough - looks like he runs a lot of shorter routes can be a 3rd down conversion guy; looks like he has a knack when the play breaks down to go get the ball. He can play. Does he crack a stacked room.
Bo jackson - smaller skill back; nothing says hes gonna be great-describe him as a joystick. He can catch; can be a 5 tool player type but he isn't super explosive, or powerful, or elite at anything - but he sound and solid, decent vision and moves himself as a joystick anywhere you need him tobe on the field to help move the ball.

Tier 3 - guys who may get some backup work but just as likely to never pan out
Bodpegn miller - a tyrelle pryor experiment. First a great culture kid, ohio kid - -but with raw skills. Long strides just like pryor, qb just like pryor, not sharpcuts the way he moves like pryor, it's literally the pryor turning into a wr long term development plan. Maybe it works , but pretty likely he struggles to see the field here with the talent hartline is bringing in and depth. he can't touch the other wrs in this class right now.
Jayvon mcfadden - mean streak, finishes to the whistle - i actually think this guy could carve out a role - like him better then cook
tarvos alford - can't get a read on him, has some athleticism obviously but - i think it may be tough to see the field in a room with guys from 4 classes. james first recruit
deshaun stewart - him and alford and pretty talented guys; but do i know he is a really good safety ? no - the film shows good tackling as a corner; but i don't see the instincts to know he is going to be an elite safety like haddad.
Epi sitaneili - 220 lb edge ? Plays half time at linebacker - is this the jim knowles could carve out a role jack position ? …..kid didn't even start till senior year of high school which is not exactly good.; looks like high effort motor guy - all depends on fit for him.

guys who i don't think can play here and will not pan out
Anthony rogers - 5 foot 8 maybe 180? I don't like this offer - he looks really small and plays even smaller - doesn't have the elite speed despite his name being turbo or an elite traits to makeup for it. Supposed to be our darren sproles ? But hes smaller then sproles without what makes sproles great. Is he chris rainey ? Without rainey speed - possible future starter at ul monroe
Trajen odom - athletic 285 lb dt; plays little high - plays too high; just don't think hes stout.
Brody lennon - don't see it - film for nate roberts is better. doesn't look like he can block.
Jake cook - looks just more sloppy then powerful, not because he's fat, he gets on the move, just don't think his movements are coordinated enough.
Eli lee - nothing elite jumps out; not elite quickness; film just shows coming up in the run on some plays - 0 pass coverage plays. Looks ok filling in on the run.
