The 82nd and 101st Airborne Divisions, along with their British counterparts, were dropping into Normandy to prepare the way for the invasions on Utah, Omaha, Sword, Juneau, and Gold beaches.
I am watching the first 2 episodes of Band of Brothers in their memory tonight. Captain Sobel was a true SOB, but he prepared the men of Easy company not only physically, but especially mentally, for the challenges that awaited them.

God bless them all.

If only we had a true CIC who truly appreciated not only their sacrifices but also those of our allies for their endeavours of that night, instead of landing on their shore and embarrassing himself and our nation.

There must be a great "turning-in-their-graves" occurring tonight and tomorrow in Normandy.

SAD.
