Kind of a light day here in San Antonio with teams doing some special teams work and installing the offenses and defenses for the week but there were a few periods of 1-on-1, 7-on-7 and very brief 11-on-11 today.

I was able to watch the East practice for the entire three hours and watched most of the West practice before leaving a bit early to make sure I was in position to watch the Rose Bowl.

- There are a couple of players with considerable upside in this OSU class, most notably Zach Harrison. But the guy who I think is most ready to play next year is Garrett Wilson. Wilson was once again very smooth today. He's just a natural. He needs to get a little bigger/stronger but his route-running and body control along with just his general maturity and mentality have me thinking he'll be very much in the rotation next year.

- Harry Miller worked exclusively at center today. Looked very solid in the brief 11-on-11 period. I think I'll get a better read on the offensive line hopefully in the next day or two when they do more real football stuff and less glorified camp stuff in pads.

- Doug Nester moved around quite a bit. Played some guard and some tackle and also flipped sides at times. 1-on-1's was a bit of a struggle, but it usually takes the offensive line a few days to get up to speed. Not a lot of Nolan Smith's running around Huntington, West Virginia. Was much better in full team, however. I still think he's a guard. He has a tackle frame, but I think will be better suited on the interior. Not out of the question that he could play outside but just think guard will be where he ultimately winds up, more of a mauler to me at this stage from watching him over the years.

Will have an update on Doug soon. Nothing earth-shattering here beyond what we've talked about recently though. He's going to visit PSU, VT, and UGA officially in January and I don't particularly love Ohio State's chances right now.

- I had Zach Harrison down for a split of his two 1-on-1 reps though I didn't feel either rep was decisive either way. He is really tough to deal with because of his length, linemen just have a hard time getting to his body because he's reaching them before they can reach him. Has to get a little better firing off the ball and he's very good on his first move but if that isn't there it can be a struggle to counter, that's where Larry Johnson will help him tremendously.

Will also have an update on Zach. But can say in talking to him today, in watching his announcement and talking to him and his family over the past week or so, this is as relaxed as I've ever seen him. Like the weight of the world was lifted off his shoulders and he is absolutely thrilled with his decision. No second thoughts at all.
