Big Ten All-Decade teams to be announced

The Big Ten will announce all-decade teams for basketball and football beginning Monday.

Per the Big Ten media release:

Over the next two weeks, BTN will announce its All-Decade Teams for Big Ten Men’s Basketball and Football. On Monday, June 22, basketball announcements will begin rolling out on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and YouTube, starting with the Third-Team. The Second-Team will debut on June 23, the First-Team on June 24, the Coach of the Decade on June 25 and the Player of the Decade on June 26.

Football announcements start on Monday, June 29, beginning with Running Backs and Linebackers of the Decade, also on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and YouTube. The Offensive Lineman of the Decade selections will debut on June 30, the Tight Ends and Defensive Backs of the Decade will be on July 1, Wide Receivers and Defensive Lineman of the Decade on July 2 and Quarterback, Kicker, Punter, All-Purpose Player and Coach of the Decade on July 3. Dave Revsine, Mike Hall and Rick Pizzo will announce the selections, along with interviews from both panelists and players recapping each honoree. On the Saturday and Sundays following the selections (June 27-28 and July 4-5), an array of classic games featuring All-Decade Team players will be scheduled, in addition to a B1G Show recapping the week’s highlights. The BTN All-Decade Basketball Awards will also feature custom artwork from designer and illustrator Robb Harskamp, who recently chronicled 23 years of Michael Jordan’s iconic #23.

The selections were voted on by 24 panelists (for each sport), made up of BTN/FOX Sports analysts and staff members, in addition to journalists covering the Big Ten Conference.
