and "people of color". How many times a day do we hear these phrases uttered on cable news networks? But what do they mean? "Black" people aren't black; most are varying shades of brown, so, who are the "brown people"? Indeed some mulatto "black" people have "white" skin e.g. Mariah Carey, Beyonce, Colin Powell, etc.. And "white" people aren't really white, but are varying shades of pink, but for some reason get excluded from the nebulous "people of color" classification.
What I am saying is that the racial terminology currently in vogue is woefully imprecise and inaccurate, making it difficult if not impossible to engage in meaningful discussions.
