Much of our success next season depends on Coach Warinner's game planning. I've made no secret in my belief that the VT game will be a crucial game in the defense of our Ring. It could be, as the experts predict (-16). But, at their house, national coverage (Last game of the opening weekend), grass field (Over grown and wet), 16 returning starters, and Bud Foster with 9 mo. to prepare. Just might be a tough game (Even for us). Some might even say that the game, being Ed's 1st as OC, against arguably the best DC in CFB (Definitely the highest paid) might be a......detriment. But I find solace in that match-up. Ed was the Kansas OC in 2007, when the Jayhawks went 12-1 and beat Bud's (DC) VT team in the Orange Bowl 24-21. So these guys have a knowledge of one another. I'm sure Ed will be acutely aware of his teams shortcomings after last year. Still it will be a very intriguing initial test of our new OC.
