I'm going to keep this one short and sweet, as I'll dive deeper into Mike Yurcich's departure in Wednesday's edition of A-Deck:

After checking in with a number of reliable sources, I am hearing that Corey Dennis is going to be Ohio State's next quarterbacks coach, replacing Yurcich on Ryan Day's staff.

Dennis is currently a senior quality control coach for offense at OSU, a role he has served in the last two seasons, where he has primarily helped out with quarterbacks (his Twitter bio lists him as "Assistant QBs Coach"). His bio on the official team site mentions his responsibilities include "increased off-field coaching responsibilities in the areas of game planning, practice planning and daily organization with both the wide receiver and quarterback units. He works alongside head coach Ryan Day and receivers coach Brian Hartline."

This is Dennis's fifth year overall with the program, serving as an intern in 2015, and as a graduate assistant for both the 2016 and 2017 seasons. A native of Troy, Alabama, he played wide receiver at Georgia Tech, graduating in 2014 with a degree in business administration. He also has a Master's degree from Ohio State in sport management (2017).

Reports from a few weeks back had Dennis being named as the quarterbacks coach at Colorado State under new head coach Steve Addazio, but it appears that the young coach and his family will be remaining in Columbus thanks to this new opportunity created by Yurcich's departure.

While many will point to Dennis being Urban Meyer's son-in-law (he is married to his oldest daughter Nicki), Dennis has gotten rave reviews from those he has worked with. Day has spoken very highly of him multiple times, as has former Ohio State quarterback Dwayne Haskins, who worked closely with Dennis during his time in Columbus. In speaking with sources, Justin Fields is also a big fan of working with Dennis.

We have reached out to Ohio State for confirmation and as of publication, they have neither confirmed or denied this report.
