I hope you all had a great holiday season!
Merry-belated Christmas, Happy-belated Hanukkah and Happy New Year!
I am so glad to be back home in Houston...(And here at the Grove).
It’s 65 degrees here today and completely sunny. Tomorrow it’s supposed to get up to 77 and also be mostly sunny.
I made the extremely foolish mistake of trying to leave Dayton’s “ International Airport” on New Year’s Eve (so my kids and I could get to Chicago by 1 pm (and then my 17 year old daughter and I could get to Houston by 3:30 pm and my son could get to LA by 4 pm).
But... of course...... like most years....our United Express flight had “multiple mechanical issues” and we were delayed 5 times... by the time they finally showed up....the temperature had dropped 8-9 degrees and it was sleeting out....(so they had to spend an hour de-icing the plane). Once we got to Chicago....THANK GOD - I got my daughter on the last standby seat on the 3:58 - 6:59 PM flight to Houston (Thank God....as she was truly becoming increasingly agitated.... as it looked as if she was going to definitely miss her New Year’s Eve dinner plans with her 13-14 best friends. My son’s flight from Chicago fo LA was also delayed 3-5 times (but he made it in finally about 11:30 pm) and then my 5:50 PM Chicago to Houston flight was also delayed 3-4 times as well... (as they had to bring in a backup crew to finally get us in the air ...)...And then I finally get in around 10pm and home around 11pm.
No more Holiday travel for me....and I broke my own rule of “NO CONNECTIONS!!”
Anyhow.... enough negativity from me...
I know most of you are likely watching this Texans versus Bills game in Houston.
JJ Watt is back baby!
Please chime in some - If you are watching and let’s have an active game thread...I need to read your words if I can’t have a face to face conversation with you all!
At least there is more quality football to watch!
