I have a question about our defense....

I was at the game yesterday and noticed during time out when our defense was on the field, there were two separate huddles. One huddle for our defense lineman and another huddle for our defensive backs and linebackers. How can you develop any continuity when the players are receiving separate messages? Am I wrong to be concerned about what I observed?
