For the first time since he committed, I had a chance to exchange a few messages with five-star quarterback Quinn Ewers today.
I messaged him as I saw he won't be in attendance for the Under Armour All-America camp (that's the case with Caleb Burton, too), so I wanted to see if we could carve out time for a video interview this weekend.
While that's not a guarantee as he may actually be in Florida for his birthday this weekend, Ewers did tell me a little bit about his health right now. The Texas-based prospect says he won't be at the camp as he is still "trying to get back to 100%" from his surgery.
Ewers told me that he suffered a groin/core injury last season, and popped it a few times because he came back a little too early. He did tell me, however, that he will be back to normal in a couple of weeks.
It's unfortunate I won't be able to watch him compete at the Under Armour All-America Camp in Dallas on Sunday, but we may be able to catch him later in the coming weeks.
