Most of you know I am conservative, and a republican. I think Trump is a d1ckhead in many ways personally, but love "most" of his policies, and what he has accomplished. Will vote for him again in 2020, unless something crazy happens, or someone emerges that gives me more excitement for the future. Not likely.
However, that said, looking at this election realistically ... just about ALL of the current Dem candidates on stage Friday night are either crackpots, dunces, uninspiring, past their electable prime, or have fatal flaws, and will get CRUSHED by Trump in 2020. We can debate this of course, call each other names, etc ... but let's skip all that, I don't have time to "fart" at each other.
My "play" if I am the DNC ... Romney / Michelle
Mitt switching from R to D is a natural next step. Go full "turncoat" you likely have no future in the conservative party now anyway, rightfully or wrongfully. Complete the "suck up" and jump over, and into the race. He has experience, a good mix of maturity but not a fossil, speaks and presents well, has a business acumen that "could" debate and go toe-to-toe with Trump rather than just offering unrealistic promises pandering to voting blocks.
Plus, you are guaranteed a PASSIONATE committed energetic campaign, he is still pi55ed from 2016, and has committed to the warpath, and F-ing HATES Trump.
It gives Mitt another "shot" at the big oak desk for his ego and family name, and he has the money to do it, and a "conviction" based approach that he can "morally" base on his recent impeachment vote rather than a Bloomberg buying his way in after the others clown their way out of real contention ... Mitt, with some mutual wheeling and dealing with DNC ... is your ticket.
Adding Michelle Obama to the ticket, well that speaks for itself for blocks of votes, balance, diversity, and your future candidate down the road.
Not here to revisit the past of fighting, name calling, spitting and cussing, or to defend or vilify Trump ... just floating an idea for discussion that could be F'ing competitive, and absolutely electric for attention, voter turn out, re-energizing the Dems outlook, and maybe even potentially winning.
Romney and Michelle anyone? ... omfg that would be an absolutely wicked and totally savage play ... a potential haymaker
