Watching this game back, the quarterback option was in their playbook. It was pretty easy to tall when Ohio State was going to go to the option, whether it was Stroud taking it himself or pitching off to Henderson.
Many of those opportunities were taken in short-yardage situations on third down. It worked for two first downs when Stroud took it himself in the first half, while an option pitch to Henderson worked for a first down early in the fourth quarter.
