Hi everyone.
My dad just lost his job and has a new one starting this week.
He will make approximately 52k per year ($1,000 per week).
But he won't have taxes withheld from this.
and he won't have health insurance.
a few questions (as I'm in the military and don't know anything about private health insurance)
1. where should he look for affordable but quality health insurance? (medical, dental, eye)
2. how much should he save of his paycheck for tax purposes (federal and ohio) for the end of the year? he has no other income or things that would make his taxes difficult. single. no properties, etc.
3. his current health insurance covers him through the end of september. is he best not letting that lapse before he gets new insurance? does it matter (assuming he doesn't have a need for the insurance in the gap)?
thanks guys!!!
