In late July/early August, My wife, 15 year old son, 10 year old daughter and I are driving to Maine to visit the in-laws. We decided to add an extra week and do 3/4 days each in NYC and Boston. I have been to Manhattan once for an afternoon for a work thing but no one else has been to either city. They want to do a Broadway play and see the Natural History museum in NYC and the Duck tour in Boston but other than that we don't have a clue. We are looking for attractions/restaurants that may be not be the touristy things to do as well. We aren't looking for La Bernardin, or STK but more like the casual places that are only available in NYC/Boston, like would you go to Grimaldis for real NYC pizza or is that for the non-natives. It seems like someone or many people on this board always have the inside scoop so any advice would be appreciated. Thanks
