I personally feel this was the first fair Michigan Ohio State game since 2019. Maybe that’s some coping, but I truly believe their sign stealing operation gave Michigan a significant advantage. It was way too elaborate, and they wouldn’t have gone to those lengths and put the program at risk if it didn’t.

I also think this is the best Michigan team Harbaugh has had. Despite the very strong defense, this was maybe the most limited OSU team Ryan Day has had, specifically because of Kyle McCord.

Taking all that into account, it was a very close game that essentially came down to losing the turnover battle (McCord). If I look at the game in a vacuum and not as “the third straight loss to Michigan” i can accept it as a good game between two very good teams. That doesn’t mean it still doesn’t really suck.

But after listening to the survey results on Kings of Columbus, it became very clear the fan base isn’t freaking out nearly as much as I expected. It’s also very clear that the vast majority of people see that this team was very limited by Kyle McCord’s erratic play.

Ohio State has had the best quarterback in the conference for the last decade. Not only did we not have that this year, we didn’t have an OSU caliber quarterback this year. I’m not trying to pile on McCord, but 24 TDs in this offense with these weapons is not going to cut it.

Ryan Day still has a lot to prove and still needs to make some significant changes this off season. But I’m not nearly as stressed out as I was. Whether Kyle takes a big step forward or we go with someone else, Day has to make sure he hits on the QB next season. If he does while maintaining a high level defense I think this 3 year nightmare will end.

Or I could be completely wrong 🤷🏼‍♂️
