There are reports beginning to surface that Oklahoma running back Trey Sermon is entering the transfer portal.
My understanding of the situation in talking to a trusted source in that part of the country is that Sermon isn't yet in the portal, but has informed Oklahoma that he will be throwing his name in it.
This would be an ideal candidate for Ohio State as it would check the boxes they are looking for in terms of ability/immediate impact but also not clogging up a spot on the roster for a few years as he has just one year left. A quick fix, a la Jonah Jackson last year, is the preference here.
Two hurdles here...
1. The unknown with the coronavirus in terms how quickly teams will be able to act here (visits, etc.)
2. Sermon is coming off an ACL injury but is expected to be full go for the season, but something teams are going to want to dig into a little bit.
