As we slowly count down the days until the start of another Buckeye football season I would like to hear from any baseball fans on how they view the state of the game.

1) What are you thoughts on the new approach to hitting. It seems its all home runs, walks or strikeouts. I read that the analytics say its more likely to hit a home run than it is to hit three single in a inning to score a run. The HR pace the league is on this year is unbelievable. Just seems like so much of the rest of the game is gone.

2) The defensive shifts. Are you alright with the shifts? Do you think they should be limited? Do you believe, like I do, that pro hitters should be able to adjust and beat the shift.

3) The Opener. Last year Tampa started using the opener and now more teams are using it. Do you think this trend will increase? When I was younger it was a great starting pitcher that would get me to go to a game. Whenever Ryan or Clemens pitched in Cleveland I made sure to go to the games. Do we have must see starters like that anymore?

4) The umpiring. Has it gotten worse or is it just every game is televised and every call looked at from multiple angles in slow motion? I do think the league needs to be more aggressive in getting rid of poor umpires. The ones that come to mind are Joe West, Angel Hernandez, CJ Buckner.
