Texas's Defense will not be prepared for the Ohio State offense, It will be a shock to their system. This isn't even about how good their defense is or isn't, just just a byproduct of them playing 15 games now, and not having played a single top 20 p4 scoring offense.

Here is Texas P4 Opponents scoring offense Ranks
Game 2: Michigan ranked 100th
Game 5: Miss State ranked 95th (before their QB change)
Game 6: Oklahoma ranked 111th
Game 7: Georgia RD1, ranked 29th (Loss)
Game 8: Vandy Ranked 84th
Game 9: Florida ranked 61st (while they were playing a 3rd string QB)
Game 10: Arkansas ranked 66th
Game 11: Kentucky ranked 123rd
Game 12: Texas A&M Ranked 53rd
Game 13: Georgia rd 2 ranked 29th (missing starting QB for half the game) (Loss)
Game 14: Clemson ranked 23rd
Game 15: ASU ranked 25th
Game 16(upcoming): OSU ranked 9th
Even if you adjust for opponent averages, the only offense inside of the top 15 they faced was Georgia twice who is ranked 9th, and they lost both games. OSU for comparison comes in at 4th

In terms of passing offense vs attempt here are how their opponents rank (in parentheses will be vs expected)
Game 2: Michigan ranked 134th (121st)
Game 5: Miss State ranked 55th (30th) (before their QB change)
Game 6: Oklahoma ranked 131st (119th)
Game 7: Georgia RD1, ranked 59th (39th) (Loss)
Game 8: Vandy Ranked 35th (29th)
Game 9: Florida ranked 24th (15th) (while they were playing a 3rd string QB)
Game 10: Arkansas ranked 32nd (32nd)
Game 11: Kentucky ranked 96th (83rd)
Game 12: Texas A&M Ranked 40th (31st)
Game 13: Georgia rd 2 ranked 59th (39th) (missing starting QB for half the game) (Loss)
Game 14: Clemson ranked 69th (64th)
Game 15: ASU ranked 10th (14th) (while their only good WR was out)
Game 16(upcoming): OSU ranked 9th (7th)

So the only top 30 passing offense they faced were ASU, who was missing their only good WR (their 2nd best WR/TE has 339 yards on the season, tyson had 1101 making the pass offense work) and Florida who was starting a 3rd string QB.
They will not be prepared for Smith, Egbuka and Tate, simply because you cant be prepared the 1st time around facing an elite offense, just like OSU defense had a bit of a shock playing Oregon the 1st time, Texas's defense will face a shock next Friday
