I know it’s been a little while but a big thank you to everyone who signed my burn pits hearing request letters. I ended up collecting a total of 1470.
Quick recap: The letter demands that the Senate Veterans Affairs Committee schedule a hearing for veterans who are afflicted with health consequences due to the toxic exposure they were forced to encounter while serving our country in Iraq and Afghanistan.
A formal request for this hearing will be submitted soon along with each and every one of the 1470 letters. Ohio Sen Brown, who is a member of the Senate Veterans Affairs Committee, is presenting the formal request. Last week he had one of his staff members come to my house and pick up the big stack of letters from me.
So guys, if you signed a letter for me in the past year, it is now officially on the way to Capitol Hill and will hopefully have the impact our veterans need to have this hearing come to fruition. It’s not a given. We’ve been disappointed by being turned down before.
