The Big Changes to College Sports

Feels like the pending NCAA settlement of the player antitrust cases is likely the beginning of the Big Changes we've been waiting for since uncapped NIL went live in 2021 (and free transfer followed shortly thereafter).

While I realize it's not all that exciting, it feels like we may be arriving at some of the outcomes (and ultimately stability) of the big shakeup. Sounds the NCAA is going to take a big hit (between $2 billion and $20 billion) which will be spread across the athletic programs over the next 10 years. It sounds like the salary cap, as currently proposed, would sit somewhere between $20 million and $30 million (though that's contingent on countless factors, and I'm not clear if its across all sports).

Last week, Ross Dellenger wrote, "Industry leaders describe the next two weeks as, perhaps, the most consequential in college athletics history."
