Can someone help me understand why on 3 seperate occasions today, we had 3rd and short and ran routes short of the first down. Vannett caught 2 and I think C. Smith caught the other, and while we had 3 completions we punted on all 3. Isn't route running to past the marker to allow some room to come back to the ball pretty darn standard football?
