Spoke to the Third Wiseman today and he chimed in with this report...

"Some very interesting things going on.

First of all, Jonah Jackson(transfer from Rutgers) is a REALLY good player. Going to be an upgrade at the position for sure. Had he been playing at OSU all along he wouldn't have been "honorable mention"--he would have been first team. Very very good looking player.

Justin Fields is really impressing me. Kind of a quiet kid, but starting to assume the mantle of leadership. His passing will improve as he gains more command of the offense, but he is coming along nicely. Its not hyperbole to say that he is the "key" to the season. Have to keep him healthy and productive. Plan on seeing OSU make a concerted effort to get him to the edge more this season as he throws well on the run and they want to utilize his legs when they can. Clocked a hand timed(insert Marotti joke here about fast watches) 4.30 forty time. Yes, 4.30. Fields can move.

Josh Myers is just a monster. Crazy talk, but I like him at the center position more than Jordan. Offensive line is going to be fun as we have some depth and some guys that can move around.
Munford is healthy and will fill left tackle. Jackson will be left guard. Myers at center. Davis at right guard. Right tackle will be a Bowen/NPF battle(with my money on Bowen). Alabi and Jones will provide depth and move around---although both of them are in the doghouse(temporary--"come in early and clean the weight room" kind of stuff) for the dreaded "violation of team rule" offense.

Demario McCall has thickened up a bit and could make some noise this year at the second running back spot behind Dobbins. Demario could be the breakout guy of the year if he can stay healthy.

Austin Mack looking really good and ready for a good year. Seems to have a lot of chemistry with Fields. Those two have that innate connection that you can't teach.

Chris Olave is just a quality young man and a potentially GREAT college wide receiver. Kid kind of came from nowhere last year--but people will know his name across the country by years end.

Garrett Wilson is just a super freak. Enjoy him while he is here.

Tuf Borland has heard all the complaints and is noticeably quicker this season. Is embarrassed a bit by his play last year(where he was hobbled)--but looks to lead the defense like the captain that he is.

Atmosphere around the team is either "confident" or "relaxed"--but its different than under Meyer for sure.

Freshman guys are a little "cockier" than most---very confident group for sure. Time will tell if that's a good thing or becomes a distraction. Winning cures all, so lets hope for a fast start....

more to come..."
