Ryan Day said Williams is still day-to-day, but that he'll practice today and they hope he can play against Michigan State.
Asked for their thoughts on the defensive tackle play without Williams, both Day and Knowles said they liked what they saw from Tywone Malone. Knowles said Malone could potentially start on Saturday if Williams can't play.
Day said the play without Williams wasn't nearly as consistent as it needs to be.
"We're counting on some progress to be made there," Day said.
