President Trump calling this a "war" on this virus got me to thinking about Victory Gardens that my grandfather and eventually my other family members and father-in-law.
What's a Victory Garden?
Victory gardens, also called war gardens or food gardens for defense, were vegetable, fruit, and herb gardens planted at private residences and public parks in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia and Germany during World War I and World War II.
We were supposed to be on vacation (BVI) next week but that's been postponed so going to start my tomatoes a week early. Usually do tomatoes in soil and hydroponic but just going to focus on soil this year. Over the past 3 years my tomatoes have just kicked ass so working toward another great crop.
My varieties this year are:
1. Clear Pink Early
2. Brandywine
3. German Johnson
4. German Pink
5. Cherokee Purple
6. Mortgage Lifter
7. 1884
8. Goliath
Also pushed a few cherry tomatoes into the soil/mulch between my driveway and stone wall late last fall and will see if they come up like they have in the past.
Anybody else doing a garden this year?
