I've learned a few things, not sure they are all good. Just observations.
1. I don't miss working at all. I mean, like, not even a little bit. I think I'll be good at retirement.
2. I haven't really gotten bored at all. I have some work responsibilities that take up maybe an hour each day. Even without live sports, I haven't been bored. We have 3 kids and there's just always something to do with them in our neighborhood (bike riding, walking the dog, playing softball and tennis). And then we have little projects around the house to do and catching up on shows we never had time to watch. I'm kind of loving this (not happy this is going on, just saying).
3. I drink a lot more than I should when every day feels like Saturday. At least I'm getting some exercise every day so I hopefully don't gain the "Covid 19 (lbs.)."
4. I'm in a much better mood when I avoid all TV media. Don't care which side you live on. It's pretty much all garbage. Much happier when I read a book over flipping on cable news.
5. I'm going to have a REALLY hard time if we don't have the 2020 football season. Fingers crossed.
Lastly, my wife and I are VERY blessed to be in a financial place where none of this is really affecting us. Part of that is our professions, but also because we have eliminated all debt (still got a little on the house) and have an emergency fund/nest egg set aside. This isn't a brag at all. I really feel awful for the people who are being financially devastated by all this. I'm hoping one of the positives that comes from this is people realize being in debt sucks and getting out of the living paycheck to paycheck rat race is the way to go (Yes, we are Dave Ramsey people). I know that's easier said than done, but I hope more people do it when life returns to normal. You never know when the rug is going to be pulled out from under you so you need to be prepared.
Thanks for reading. Would love to hear from you all about what you've learned about yourself.
