Boring morning at work and we’re throwing around a whole bunch of different hypotheticals. This is one we came up with, curious to everyone’s thoughts are. What option would you rather have for this team looking at the whole picture with the goal being win the natty obviously.
1. Say OSU loses to Michigan by around a TD. The Bucks fall to #5 in the rankings ahead of Utah, win the Big Ten title game, and get into the playoffs at #4. They play #1 LSU in Atlanta, instead of their backyard New Orleans, in a potential title game. They avoid Clemson in the first round in, and get them in the title game.
2. Beat Michigan, win the Big Ten title, then play #3 Clemson (assuming we don’t get bumped up) in the semis and then #1 LSU in the national championship in New Orleans.
Part of me is like bring on the challenge in New Orleans against LSU, and I want to payback Clemson, but then part of me is like if we can take the lesser of the two paths to the ultimate goal, that might be better.
What do you all say?
