Being one of the critics of Athletic Director Gene Smith for his role in the Big Ten "vote", it now for appears OSU voted against scrapping football for the Fall.
If the 11-3 vote being reported is true with Gene/OSU leadership voting for our team and against the majority, it means he not only was a MAN in opposing this ridiculous early-August cop-out, but it also means he tool the arrows from many of us like me and was unwilling to rat-out the other schools.
If all this is true, and it appears it is, I can only say: Thank you, Gene Smith. I apologize. You are the cat's meow, Gene! To use today's popular vernacular, right buds?
