The Buckeye defense got credit for 8 sacks against Dillon Gabriel but they also got 4-5 or maybe 6 passes batted down or deflected.
That clearly got Gabriel flustered and could almost be counted as additional sacks.
Ewers is a little taller so it may be harder to deflect his passes, but the defenders need to keep trying. Nico of Tennessee was a tall QB but Sawyer batted down 2-3 of his passes. You never know....had those passes not been batted down, they could have been big plays for Oregon and Tennessee.
Sadly, none of those deflected balls were intercepted. The Bucks need to work on the tip drill this weekend.
