With a slow Tuesday looming here and no real tournament action going on yet, today seems like a good day to take a waaaay too early look at some elite prospects Ohio State is keeping tabs on among the current high school freshmen, the class of 2018. Specifically, the running backs in this class.

So far, the Buckeyes have offered two prospects in Jaelen Gill out of Columbus' Westerville South and Tye Evans of Nordonia (Cleveland suburban area).

With such a short list of names in contention so far, this is a good time to take a look at what each player brings to the table. Here's some links to each of their respective highlight tapes:

Tye Evans' Hudl

There's a couple notes to make here. Much of Jaelen Gill's film is him lining up as a receiver. It's very possible that Gill could play as either a running back, slot receiver, wide receiver, or H-back at the college level depending on development and growth. Ricky Slade, also, may not end up at running back, and has the same potential range of positions as Gill.

With all of that having been said, which back do you like the best so far? What qualities do you like in these young athletes?
