The Ohio State Buckeyes are the NATIONAL CHAMPIONS of college football. What a wild ride it has been! πŸ†πŸ†πŸ†πŸ†πŸ†πŸ†πŸ†πŸ†πŸ†πŸ†

  • Chip Kelly and Ryan Day put together a phenomenal game plan on offense. Notre Dame has a REALLY good defense and Ohio State was running circles around them. (*the late-game play-calling did leave a bit to be desired though)
  • It wasn't his most prolific statistical game, but Will Howard was INCREDIBLE today. The little wink to the camera after the pass to Inniss was awesome.
  • At one point Will Howard was 9/9 for 82 yards and two scores. Elite play.
  • I hate when QBs throw it across their bodies, but I'm cool with Will doing it on the TD pass to Judkins.
  • Will ran the ball 16 times today. And it worked. Nearly 60 yards and a couple of huge conversions. Well done.
  • Trey and Quinshon were awesome today. I think Trey has been better on the season, but Q was better tonight. They are both SO good in pass protection too.
  • No one individual guy had a huge game, but I thought all three of the wideouts AND Brandon Inniss both were good tonight. Inniss only had the one catch but he toasted a senior ND safety for a third-down conversion.
  • Props to Emeka on becoming Ohio State's new receptions leader. Minor gripe: the one fumble.
  • The play design on the JJ touchdown was beautiful.
  • The late deep ball to JJ on third and down was VERY gutsy. What a frickin' play. (he basically DID have a huge game thanks to that play)
  • Offensive line was really good from my untrained eye. I'll have to pay more attention on the rewatch, but I specifically remember Luke Montgomery killing some guys while finishing a few blocks.
  • Props to Fielding on nailing the 46-yarder and the game-clincher.

  • The first drive was a rough one for the defense. Props to Riley Leonard on that one, but it was obvious after the TD that the drive had taken its toll on his body (and understandably so).
  • Defense bounced back nicely on the next drive and really played well for most of the game after that.
  • Mitchell Melton missed a tackle on the first drive. Not entirely sure why he was on the field at that point.
  • Caleb Downs was his usual self for the most part.
  • So was Davison Igbinosun. Some really good coverage and then his patented penalties.
  • On the one play they called holding on Downs. I didn't see it. Looked like it was actually holding on Iggy (which would have been his third I believe).
  • Jeremiyah Love is one of the best players in the country and said he was feeling healthier than he had in a long time. He did nothing tonight.
  • Mathews and Downs both missed tackles on the first Greathouse touchdown. Mathews had him and simply let go. I have no idea what he was doing there.
  • Hancock simply got beat on the secons Greathouse score. Props to that kid. He played well tonight. 100+ and two scores.
  • Credit to Riley Leonard. He's not a good passer, but he's a tough kid. Credit to the entire ND team actually for fighting back.
  • Marcus Freeman is a damn good coach but he's still got a lot to learn. Big fan.
