I'm starting a new FASTSIGNS franchise in Pickerington which should open by Halloween. I need to fill a position for a Graphic Designer who also produces the products we sell like channel letter and pylon signs, banners, vinyl graphics, fleet graphics, door signage, way finding signage, digital signage, and a host of other items. I need someone who likes to work with their hands because this person will help produce many of the products they design.
I don't want to have people mistake this position as something they'd find at a high-level design firm and design corporate identity packages - this is NOT that kind of a job. I had that career path and this is lower level stuff for businesses mostly in the Pickerington and Reynoldsburg areas. I will also be hiring for an Inside Sales Position within the first 6 months as soon as the current person moves to Outside Sales.
I'm posting for the position next week on a variety of sites but wanted to post here first just in case. The job will start most likely in October and will include 2 weeks of training in Dallas that I pay for. Pay is going to be in the $15 to $20/hr area most likely. This person absolutely has to have experience with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. That's an absolute as they will be tested for both speed and technique. Need to be service oriented as well because they will also help with answering the phone and getting customers taken care with orders when the other people are on lunch and vacation. - Creates proofs and sends to customers using the online proofing system
- Follows a layout to place computer-generated vinyl or full color graphic images on a pre-determined substrate or medium
- Inspects jobs for accuracy before sending them to the plotter or printer
- Provides proofs as necessary
- Helps in the production area as needed
- Installs signs when necessary
- Performs finishing operations such as laminating, encapsulating, and/or mounting of printed pieces
Qualifications
- High level of skill using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
- Previous sign or print industry experience is a plus, but not required
- Previous graphic design experience
- Basic math skills
- Able to lift 50 or more pounds
