1. Feel fairly confident saying that OSU will continue being a 4-3 under team. Mattison has always been a big 4-3 under guy.
2. Base coverage is a little less clear. Mattison has been around so long he's done it all. He's played C1. He's played quarters. He likes C6 (quarter-quarter-half). During the time that Hafley has been with the 49ers, they've been primarily a C3 Rip/Liz pattern match team (think Pete Carroll). But it's the NFL, so they've played it all as well. My guess is that they will be pretty multiple, primarily being a zone pattern-match team.
3. Mattison LOVES to zone blitz. In particular, on third down, he likes using NFL style hover packages, and favors using a lot of 2-deep, 4 under zone blitzes.
