With Joseph Hastings running back board being updated yesterday, it would appear this morning two players are moving to the top of those charts as most likely to commit next. Speaking with a couple sources close to these recruitments, Nichols Singleton and Dallan Hayden’s names have emerged.

As of right now the runningbacks spot in the class is going to be filled by either one of those two guys as they seem to be the most ready to commit. Coach Alford seems to have made it clear between the two elite backs that the spot will be filled by the “first come, first serve” mentality.

This is very similar to the way the staff approached the Evan Pryor and Donovan Edwards situation. Although, it would appear right now Singleton could be a ever so slight lean on the home state Nittany Lions, the pressure could force him to commit to Ohio State to ensure he does not close the door on the Buckeyes.

Lastly, on the Hayden front it would appear that the Buckeyes and the Fighting Irish are leading the way in this recruitment. With Dallan Hayden’s father being an ex NFL running back he has seen the benefit in programs that are developing guys at the next level. Aran Hayden (Dallan’s Father) is a big fan of both programs but the recent pressure as of late by Coach Alford and Coach Day could be the boiling point for his son to make a decision sooner rather than later.
