The rising four-star running back was offered by the Buckeyes today while on his visit for the first spring practice.
“It was a blessing to speak with Coach Day,”Akih said. “He is one of the best head coaches I’ve spoken with so far! It’s truly a blessing be able to earn an offer from Ohio State University being an in-state kid! Coach Lock really stood out to me, he read me pretty well and knows exactly how I play and what I need to improve on!”
Akih has been strongly linked to Miami and I’d count them as the favorites coming into this visit. But this visit and offer shook things up for the Ohio native. I asked if today helped him envision himself in Columbus.
“Yeah definitely, sitting in the running back room myself, I could see myself being a Buckeye,” Akih said.
Up next he will visit Michigan on Wednesday.
