Friends,

My daughter just wrapped up her sophomore year of high school and we just hired a college advisor / tutor to help guide us and help her (us) prepare “HER OWN and legit” best possible resume for college admissions. (And trust me it’s not like the “Hollywood type of college advisor” we have all been hearing about....

Interesting note this advisor said all colleges go in the order of:

1) GPA
2) Test Score
3) Extra Curricular Activities / Resume
4) Letters of recommendations

When my niece didn’t get into Ohio State... we were told it was just all based on test scores.. (or that it was “primarily based on her ACT score”.

My daughter wants to most likely pursue an International Business degree and her list right now is in order: (By the way... I tried to get some interest in Ohio State - but I think she wants to pursue colleges primarily with warm weather climates):

1) Georgia
2) USC
3) Texas
4) Vanderbilt
5) SMU
6) TCU
7) Miami (The U)
8) South Carolina (this advisor said they have a great IB program, I was surprised to hear that)..
9) Clemson (I added since we are checking out SC
10) Wake Forest (I added since we are checking out SC)
11) UCLA
12) Pepperdine
13) Tulane ( I love New Orleans (I lived there for 1 year after graduating)...but frankly.. I am not so keen with my daughter living in New Orleans for 4 years).
14) Wash U (St. Louis)
15) University of Dayton (a front only... (a white lie to my mom).

If any of you guys that have other suggestions, I would really appreciate your input... I am looking forward to as many college tour road trips with her as we can squeeze in...

Georgia, Texas, Vandy, USC, Wake Forest are kind of her “stretch schools” (and she’s likely going to have to do some bizarre major just to even get a look from Texas).

Thanks in advance my friends....
