This horribly run process reminds of a football coaching search at Notre Dame. Every list would contain Gruden, Cowher, Dungy, Urban, Stoops and Saban and they end up with Charlie Tuna, Ty W, Davies and Kelly. I constantly would laugh at how clueless their fan base and administration was about their program. We are now doing the same thing in our BBall search....Donovan, Miller, Miller, Bulls coach, etc. If we are honest...this program is not viewed as favorably today as it was when we had to make our last hire. The Snottenstein Center is terrible, fan support is low, student support is worse, and unlike football we share the state in recruiting with about 6 other programs.
Hopefully....we can take a step back after we end of having to hire a B- or C+ candidate and realize the wrapper around this program is not nearly as attractive as it once was.
