Sonny Styles' Position

There's been a fair bit of talk, especially from Marc Givler, that we're playing Sonny out of position. I tend to agree, I think that what makes Sonny special is his athleticism relative to other linebackers. Playing him at safety saps that advantage. What do y'all think? Seen some talk of even playing him at JACK, which I think would also be a great fit for CJ Hicks. That is, if LJ ever lets Knowles use the position Login to view embedded media

Tony Alford: Know Your Role

Can Alford fill the Kevin Wilson role of "Day Contrarion"?

Alford's been AHC since 2015 and RGC since 2022. What is his role on game day? What is his role in weekly game planning?

I want a clearer understanding of Alford's responsibilities and contributions.

It's pretty clear Day missed Wilson this year because Wilson challenged and pushed Day. I'm concerned Day's offensive staff may be too aligned.

Consensus is, Corey Dennis' replacement needs to be a veteran who can push Day and take some tasks off HCs plate. Perhaps we should get more from our AHC/RGC. Would it be possible to change BH to AHC and hire an experienced OC?

Position numbers

My bad for dropping the ball on updating this, but it should be good to go now.

Updated look at where Ohio State is numbers-wise at each position:

I still have Cade Stover listed here because he hasn't announced anything yet, but we expect him to leave.

If Stover leaves, I have OSU at 81 scholarships. That's including guys like Lorenzo Styles and Nigel Glover, and the recently added Will Kacmarek. So there's room to do more.

#STUFF Thoughts on new transfer addition Will Kacmarek

Buckeyes love this kid's upside and have had him described to me a "bigger, faster" version of Cade Stover, very similar personality-wise. Played DE in high school and made move to TE full-time at Ohio.

He's averaged 21 catches a season for the Bobcats and should be in position to compete for TE1 reps in Columbus ASAP. He'll have two years of eligibility remaining.

Really?

Yes yes… I know the feelings on Jbook, but this sounds like utter nonsense. If this is actually what Parris said on the podcast (6 real practices and 12-13 light workouts) I’d say we have real issues.

My understanding is they lighten up the first week since everyone is banged up, and then the ramp up after that. Maybe more install because of Brown coming in?

Just sounds either there are issues or some guys are just speaking out of turn, and things are getting amped on social media.
