The IRS Scandal

IRS Audits Poorest Families at Five Times the Rate for Everyone Else

Fact: Audits of EITC filers — lower-income workers — have “accounted for almost 31 percent of all IRS audits in the last 10 years.”

Air time on conservative networks: 0 hours

While the right pretends to be victims of IRS "scrutiny" over fake charities that funnel money to Republican political causes, they spend a grand total of 0 time acknowledging the real issues facing Americans.

So Police brutalize them, the state incarcerates them, inflation bankrupts them, then we allow the IRS to audit them at 5x the rate of everyone else.

Boy, thank God Republicans spent years telling us their plight of victimhood at the hands of the IRS.

Lot of good it did...

Sasso's shooters arrested

Arrested Monday, don't see any thread here.

A 15-year-old girl and a 16-year-old boy were arrested Monday and charged with aggravated robbery and felonious assault, among other things, in connection with the shooting, according to WBNS.

One of the teenagers allegedly involved had 11 warrants out for her arrest, per the report. The other had been released from the Department of Youth Services just five days before the shooting. They are due in court Sept. 5.

Any lawyers here that can explain why no attempted murder? Shot in the abdomen and left unable to get himself to a hospital, that's fatal quite often.

Question for Austin, Bill & Birm

During the conversations about the possible QB rotation for the Indiana game, some have predicted McCord and Brown alternating quarters, halves or after every third series. Everyone wants each QB to get "meaningful" snaps.
I don't think anyone has asked, or answered, what happens if after McCord leads three 10-play touchdown drives (30 plays) and then Brown goes into the game with the football at the 45-yard line. On first down, Henderson scampers 35 yards on a handoff to the 25-yard line. On second down, Brown hits Harrison with a 25-yard TD pass. 2 plays.
On the second Brown series, Brown scrambles for 15 yards. Passes to Tate for 25 yards and then makes a pop-pass to Egbuka who takes it 20 yards for another touchdown. 3 plays
After the defense gets a turnover (pass interception) at the 30-yard line, Brown passes to Cade Stover for a TD on first down. 1 play
Brown's opportunity consists of 5 or 6 plays for 3 TDs. Then it's McCord's turn again.
After McCord's second three series, it's the middle of the third quarter and the Bucks have a 42 to 7 lead. Does Day/Hartline allow Brown to use the full playbook? Or, does he handoff each snap to Hayden, Pryor and Trayanum running behind the second team OL?

Phil Steele’s Vegas Power Rankings

This is not the AP poll but gives you an idea of how much teams would be favored over another team if they met on a neutral field. I use these to get an idea of lines on upcoming games. Keep in mind just because a team beat someone last week does not mean they would be favored over them in the Vegas ratings. I will update these each week during the year as always.

Jeremiah Smith returning to OSU in September

he told us he wasn't sure of the game, but he'll be back in town soon. Again, the in-state schools will also receiver trips but this has long been his contingency plan.

Looking for both the standard tourist suggestions and some low key things to do? My wife is 7 months pregnant so want to find some stuff for her as well besides the game and Roosters!!

Thanks Buckeye Nation for any suggestions!

@Bill Landis @AustinWard @Birm would love your suggestions as well!

The time has come, It's GAME WEEK.

The most wonderful time of the year is upon us. Ohio State plays a football game this week.

How about a thread of your earliest memories of when you knew you loved Ohio State football.

I remember in 2002 I was in a youth bowling league and had finished up my league and sat near the bar so I could see the TV and watched the Holy Buckeye with my dad.

That was a special season. and my love for Ohio State has only grown since then.

2023 Road Beers and Lodging

Every year there’s always a lot of questions thrown out to @AustinWard, @Birm or the forum at large on what local beers to buy and where to stay. So I thought I would try to provide us a dedicated thread to discuss or share ideas on both.

My family and I are heading to Bloomington this weekend for the first time and would appreciate anyone’s thoughts on either.

Has anyone stayed at the Biddle hotel previously?
