How Much Top End Talent Is On The 2023 Ohio State Team?

There is still a long, long time before the 2024 draft, but this site is a NFL mock draft aggregator. They take NFL mock drafts and make a composite.

Right now, they only have 12 mocks that they have used to generate this 2024 composite. There is no way in hell that this happens, but they currently have Ohio State with 8 NFL first round picks:

3 Marvin Harrison Sr.
6 Mike Hall
10 Emeka Egbuka
14 Jack Sawyer
18 Denzel Burke
22 JTT
27 TreVeyeon Henderson
28 Tyleik Williams

Failure of leadership

and parenting.

Where are the parents, the mayor? Granted the kids are not all black but where is Al Sharpton? Obama (isn't Chicago his home town)?

McCord's Spring game Perfomance

What impacted McCord's spring game performance more?

  • Missing top 4 WR's

  • O-line Play

Obviously the discussion on McCord's Spring Game performance can be polarizing so I'm just curious what everyone thinks the biggest factor was in the actual outcome. I'd also like to preface this with saying it's the Spring Game so anyting that happened in it should be taken with the broadest grain of salt.

Dale Bonner, guard from Baylor. Shaker Heights, Ohio product. 6-2 combo guard.

Played just under 20 minutes per game over the last two years at Baylor, and averaged 4 points, 2 assists, 1 steal and 1 rebound per game. Prior to that, he played at Division II Fairmont State.

He had a couple games with six-plus steals at Baylor, so he could juice up the perimeter defense.

OSU was looking for a veteran combo guard to take some of the burden off of Bruce Thornton, Roddy Gayle and incoming freshman Taison Chatman.

Is Georgia trending downwards?

Yes they have won the last two national titles. But that’s old news. In their spring game it was clear that their defense is awful - Carson Beck absolutely shredded them. Landon Thomas recommitted to FSU? Sounds like the NIL cash is running out. How many four and five star talents have they lost out of the state? Too many to count.

And they don’t even have the number one ranked recruiting class any more. Sounds like a program in decline to me. Just my two cents.

(To the Message Board Genius guy - this is satire. Unless it isn’t….)

Is Ohio State trending downward?

I’ve seen at least 2 articles now in the past week alluding to the fact that OSU may be slipping as a program. One from Ari Wasserman and one from Stewart Mandel. I respect both of those guys, but was a bit confused with their assessment. Last year’s class wasn’t great, and we’ve lost 2 straight rivalry games. However, the coaching staff seems to be learning from previous mistakes, and the Peach Bowl was honestly a silver lining last year. Just curious on everyone’s thoughts because I think the national media may have just overblown the “genius” of Day, and are now swinging the other way.

I'll have more updates over next few days of course but it's my wife's birthday ... if there's anything specific I can answer please drop it in this thread.
