Did Ryan Day finally learn how to get a 4th and 1?!

The short yardage game has plagued Ryan Day these last 2 years. Can’t run for a first down on short yardage against a physical team.

Our East-West end around to Egbuka w 8 min left on 4th and 6 inches showed me how much faith the coaches had in our ability to fall forward for a 1 yard sneak. A terrible indictment on the narrative that Ohio State is a “finesse team”…

But on the last play of the game; our most powerful back ran thru a tackle, the OL got a little movement, and got the job done. That could be a watershed moment for who we think we are on 3rd and a foot going forward.

And for the 1st time in years, our defense really kept us in the game.

ND’s AA left tackle and their AA corner made some serious coin tonite against JTT and Marv.

But the team learned something that perhaps they had come to doubt: win an old school, smash mouth game with matching physical intensity and clutch plays. Looked like a Jim Tressel team tonite. I’ll take it!!!!

Far Right Elites Funding Gov’t Shutdown

Caucus members are claiming that they will oppose any short-term continuing budget resolutions unless their demands for addressing “wokeness” in the military, “weaponization” of the Department of Justice and FBI, and building a border wall are met.

The “No Security, No Funding” framework used by the Freedom Caucus for its demands is echoed in materialsbeing circulated by right-wing groups including the Conservative Partnership Institute (or CPI, which effectively provides staffing for the Freedom Caucus), the secretive Council for National Policy’s Conservative Action Project, the America First Policy Institute, the Heritage Foundation, Club for Growth, the Competitive Enterprise Institute, the Family Research Council, and the Eagle Forum, all of which are pushing for a government shutdown unless their ideological demands are met.

Although these groups’ arguments focus on reigning in government spending, their demands have hardly anything to do with the federal budget since they’re all based on culture war priorities.

For example, a recent letter circulated by the Conservative Action Project and signed by more than 100 individuals — including representatives from the groups mentioned above — contends that any spending bill must include policy reforms that would “stop the woke cancer that has infected the Pentagon.” Signatories include Trump lawyers Cleta Mitchell and Ken Cuccinelli — influential MAGA legal operatives at the CPI — as well as several elected representatives, mostly from Arizona.

If you want a lesson on the elites maintaining wealth and power through politics, think about how all these culture war priorities are verbatim what conservatives are selling with respect to “wokeness,” trans panic, government spending and every other culture war issue they’ve caused and have no solution toward.

Just gum up the works of government and make sure progress towards solutions are impossible.

Some things are bigger than football, lets help out a Doomer on game week

I know some of you are newer to Rivals and some may not even know the Mainboard exists but despite what a cesspool it can be at times, everyone always comes together for a great cause. There is a Notre Dame poster on there who was diagnosed with ALS. It's a horrible disease as you know and he has been documenting his battle on the board since he's been diagnosed, it's amazing how strong and inspirational he has been throughout. He has wife and 11yr old daughter that he will be ultimately leaving behind. As he body continues to fail him, there are things that need to be upgraded at the home etc. to care for him that insurance will not cover. I have texted with him off the board and he has truly changed my outlook on life. I was hoping that some here would want to help out, maybe donate what you planned on betting/winning on the Notre Dame game this one time. Below I have posted his last update from this morning, a link to the thread on his battle and a link to his gofundme. I donated again today, I think about the things he will miss out on with his daughter and it simply breaks my heart. Thank you

Just wanted to provide an update for those interested. I've had a rough couple weeks. All the neck pain I've been experiencing is because the disease has been active in those vertebrae that affect the bulbar region. My ability to speak has declined greatly in the last 10 days. I basically talk out of my nose now and can be very difficult to understand. Breathing is also more labored and i am beginning to have nasel regurgitation when drinking. Eating had become an absolute chore. Currently working on getting scheduled to have a feeding tube inserted. I knew all these things were going to happen but it sucks when they happen so quickly. Was hoping for a slower progression but unfortunately we don't always get what we hope for.

I'm still able to do all my health care my myself but it's becoming very difficult. Showers are particularly exhausting. I'm grateful I'm still able to stand and walk short distances if I'm holding onto something. My arms and hands are slowly becoming paralyzed but still have use of them though with much lower ability. Muscles in my shoulders are about shot so picking things up with any weight is impossible. It's such a vicious disease and I know it's just killing me "slowly".

All that said, I continue to walk through it one day at a time and try to be strong for my family. It's just as hard on them as it is me. I just take pleasure in the small things that happen daily that I never gave a second thought to before. This disease has taught me how ungrateful I was in the past. With the recent progression i have definitely began to think more about death. Im not afraid to die, but the thought of leaving all my loved ones behind saddens me deeply. Especially my 11 year old daughter. Anyway, thanks again to everyone that has continued to keep us in your thoughts and prayers. I will continue to update as long as possible. It's a good outlet for me and think it helps shed some light on a disease that is usually lived in darkness.

The thread on the Mainboard where you can read all up on his situation

And a link to his gofundme which is also in the thread on the mainboard.

Football Road Beers/Breaks: Notre Dame Edition

Birm and I will be in South Bend by this afternoon, and we're going to have another Road Beers and Breaks episode on YouTube this evening thanks to our friend CardCollector2!

Have questions about football or literally anything else on your mind that you want us to answer live and with some truth serum in our system? Fire them away here and we'll get to as many as we can.

Don't forget: Massive Trade Night in Grove City at CardCollector2 Sports Cards next Saturday evening starting at 6. Our staff will be there to do a bit of content and I'm expecting there will be at least one Ohio State player (maybe more) there to sign a few autographs. Check them out!

What do you think about Notre Dame? What is their weakness? Strengths?

I've listened to a decent amount of radio, youtube videos, etc, etc and I feel like the general feeling is Notre Dame has a good O Line, great QB, great RB.

Is that it? To be honest, I am not sure how good their defense is, how good their WRs are, so I couldn't tell you a weakness.

I also can't tell if this is a team we should be really afraid of or a team we should be able to beat soundly - I know... top 10 matchup on the road, new QB, new O Line.
