Did Ryan Day finally learn how to get a 4th and 1?!

The short yardage game has plagued Ryan Day these last 2 years. Can’t run for a first down on short yardage against a physical team.
Our East-West end around to Egbuka w 8 min left on 4th and 6 inches showed me how much faith the coaches had in our ability to fall forward for a 1 yard sneak. A terrible indictment on the narrative that Ohio State is a “finesse team”…
But on the last play of the game; our most powerful back ran thru a tackle, the OL got a little movement, and got the job done. That could be a watershed moment for who we think we are on 3rd and a foot going forward.
And for the 1st time in years, our defense really kept us in the game.
ND’s AA left tackle and their AA corner made some serious coin tonite against JTT and Marv.
But the team learned something that perhaps they had come to doubt: win an old school, smash mouth game with matching physical intensity and clutch plays. Looked like a Jim Tressel team tonite. I’ll take it!!!!
