RE: Let Michigan play...

The entire starting lineup for Michigan is used to knowing all the signals, they are used to knowing the protection scheme and routes on a pass play making calling the right defense for the play much easier to defend. They know where to go at the snap of the ball. On running plays they know where the hole is supposed to be they know if it's a run to the right or left. When the ball is snapped, the player goes to where he is supposed to be... what happens if you haven't played in a game since HS where you had to have great instincts and exceptional eye discipline? When you have to rely on your discipline and assignment responsibilities.

Mark it down now... Penn State will beat Michigan. Maryland may pull off the big upset as well. OSU will get its revenge!!! Michigan loses 3 out of its last 4

As far as signals, you platoon and send the signals that way. They can send 2 plays and they can just raise 1 arm for run play 1 and 2 for run play 2

Ranking OSU Qbs

My friends and I had a long discussion of who were our favorite OSU Qbs in our lifetime. After arguing for awhile we even listed our top 5 least favorite. I was interested in what everyone's top 5-10 favorite or least favorite OSU Qbs.

My top 5

1. Troy Smith
2. Justin Fields
3. CJ Stroud
4. Dwayne Haskins
5. Terrelle Pryor

My least favorite

1. Steve Bellasauri
2. Tate Martell
3. Justin Zwick (I like him doing media but I still remember that OSU Texas game when I was a kid and I was so mad he was sharing reps with Troy)
4. Joe Bauersman
5. Todd Beckman ( I actually enjoyed him in 07 but I was ready for him to be benched for Pryor in 08)

Rivals100 Florida DL commit Amaris Williams has three visits planned

Big month for Williams. Florida hasn't lost him yet but they'll need to knock his upcoming visit out of the park. Ohio State is next weekend then an official visit to Tennessee the weekend of Nov. 17th for the Georgia game.

Top 50 prospect Zahir Mathis breaks down his top five, includes Ohio State

Don't be surprised if he visits more schools not included on this list. Texas is his most recent offer and he still has to visit Florida State but both schools are doing a good job making a strong impression. Ohio State, South Carolina, and Tennessee have to like where they stand right now but there is still a long way to go in his recruitment.

Now that Ukraine is past the left wing...

love fest of claiming we are fighting for democracy. Ukraine is not and was not a democracy. Changing social media avatars and giving speeches at award shows.....what's next. The party in power since failing to deter Russia with sanctions is now rubber stamping billions for Ukraine. So what is the end goal here? I heard multiple democrats say this could take years and they wanted Russia completely out, Putin weakened, embarrassed and maybe out of power. I heard dems say we will escalate as Russia escalates....what does that mean?

So how do we do that? Because so far the Biden foreign policy has not slowed Putin. The ruble is back up to pre invasion level values. And their invasion continues to level Ukraine and kill thousands of innocent people.

Since "sanctioning Russia" the US has seen the dollar value continue to drop, inflation skyrocket, energy and food prices are killing Americans and I'm sure hitting the poor and minorities the hardest. We now are seeing negative 1.4% GDP headed into stagflation and potentially a recession. I'm not sure who Biden's policies are hitting harder Russia or Americans. SO Ukraine is suffering and not able to expel Russia, America is spending billions and suffering economically as well. So who is winning here other than big defense contractors? Some folks in our government must be making money stuffing the coffers of Lockheed Martin, Boeing, Raytheon, General Dynamics and more. What else could explain the continuation of this absurdity?

Watcha Watching/Thinkin/Eatin

Landis came in clutch with the Motor City Pizza Co recommendation. I live in NE Pennsylvania, and although it's not NY/NJ it's still got really, really good pizza...especially Sicilian style. However, if I'd have eaten this at a restaurant, I wouldn't have even questioned if they made it.

I'd rate this a 8.5/10 for frozen pizza, and a solid 6.5/10 for pizza in general. It's really, really worth the price point, and is as good as any deep dish pizza west of I-81.

Anybody else with frozen or grocery recommendations that rival ordering from a restaurant?

Snap Judgements (10/31/23)

Hey @Birm I wanted to ask a question regarding your thoughts on today's video. Your thoughts around McCord's ankle and him needing to toughen up and perform through it, is that pointed toward fans who may be excuse away/silver lining poor performances on throws + pocket performance due to his ankle? Or are you hearing things behind the scenes where people are trying to provide excuses on his behalf?

Harbaugh contract

The reporting on this perhaps misses an important point: What I'm hearing is that certain UM leadership WANTS a superseding agreement that articulates specific termination language based on NCAA, etc. penalties. The new agreement is much more onerous in terms of Harbaugh's burden and offers a far more convenient off ramp to separating from Harbaugh, et al. The new contract accomplishes four primary goals: (1) It indicates strength to the Harbaugh loyalists. (2) It signals strength to casual onlookers. (3) It incentivizes Harbaugh to keep his mouth shut. (4) It is much, much, much more explicit about causes for termination without relief or severance. Harbaugh is currently under contract. There is no real need to offer a new agreement. Harbaugh is under contract - he isn't going anywhere. IT IS THE CAMP MOST WEARY OF HARBAUGH AT UM THAT IS EAGER FOR HARBAUGH TO SIGN A SUPERSEDING DEAL. THE NEW DEAL MAKES IT FAR EASIER FOR UM TO TERMINATE HARBAUGH FOR MUCH MORE EXPANSIVE DEFINITIONS OF "CAUSE."

Matt Weiss connection to UM investigation

UMPD seized Weiss's computer and other electronic devices that were technically UM property as part of their initial investigation into unauthorized email access. Weiss was allegedly hacking player and other student accounts and stealing "personal" images. UMPD is a part of the UM Division of Public Safety & Security - which has a modest criminal investigations unit. Mostly, they deal with parking, drunks, and vandalism. What they do not have is a meaningful cyber unit. Weiss is not cooperating with the investigation - in other words, he wouldn't give up passwords, etc. So, UMPD brought in a third-party with cyber expertise to access Weiss's files. The cyber investigation revealed suspected CSAM. (The word "suspected" is intentional because the legal threshold to definitively ascertain a victim's age when the identity of the victim is unknown is a challenge. If the CSAM are clearly images of a six-year old child, then the CSAM is self-evident. If it is a 14-year old? Well, some 18-year olds appear younger than their actual age. This is relevant in terms of gaining a conviction.)

The digital forensic analysis of the Weiss computer revealed other potential causes for alarm - including this matter which was brought to the attention of the NCAA due to integrity of game concerns. The same digital devices indicate that Weiss had cookies for a fantasy sports/gaming account. Obviously, this is a very big red flag. The same digital forensic analysis revealed a file sharing system (which is common - most of us have a means of sharing files among people in our companies and networks). However, because of the CSAM concern, there was a want to see exactly WHO was accessing exactly WHAT on the devices. The two names who were accessing the files: Stalions and Jay Harbaugh.

This is not to suggest that Stalions and Jay Harbaugh are involved in CSAM - only that they had access to the same files that Weiss accessed. My assumption would be that this access is NOT CSAM-related because Stalions, presumably, would have been terminated at the same time that Weiss was separated from the program. Jim Harbaugh is not remotely liked by most staffers in the athletic department - Jay Harbaugh is even liked less. The general assumption at UM is that Jim will absolutely lie, obfuscate, mitigate, manipulate, tamper, etc. to shield Jay from any consequence.

Also, Harbaugh's promises of "cooperation" are total BS. He has been completely uncooperative with the Weiss investigation. If Harbaugh will not support a CSAM investigation with multiple victims, does anyone reasonably trust him to cooperate on a NCAA rules infraction case (particularly one that involves his son)?

Anyway, the reporting that the signal stealing and Weiss investigations are "unrelated" is technically correct. But the Weiss investigation has contributed to the digital evidence concerning signal stealing. And Weiss is knee-deep with the Harbaugh family. Jim hired Weiss as a GA at Stanford, and then promoted him to the coaching staff. John then hired Weiss to join his staff with the Ravens. Weiss was part of the Ravens posse that John sent to Jim to rescue his program. Weiss is very, very, very close to Harbaugh. The general belief among UM athletic staff is that there is a tacit agreement: Harbaugh doesn't cooperate with the Weiss investigation, and Weiss doesn't rat out the depth and reach of the scheme to steal play calls.

The third-party forensic analysis of Weiss's digital devices is what let this particular cat out of the bag. So, to the UM apologists who are now questioning the recent WaPo report ("Who broke into our computers???): No one did. Your own PD turned the information over for analysis.

Urban

I know, I know…. Another urban rumor thread. But, it seems like there is a little smoke to this. Just doesn’t make sense that he would want to go into a dumpster fire when he was handed the keys to the Texas program and turned it down but seems like these rumors are building some steam
