There were several concerning things tonight, but I'll take a two-touchdown win in Madison.
- Kyle McCord was bad tonight. The redzone interception was terrible; as was interception #2. You just can't make those throws.
- His pocket presence was also problematic.
- I liked the one run he had for the first down. Obviously I hope his injury isn't serious (doesn't seem to be considering he went back in, of course)
- Josh Fryar was bad. He did have a nice block on the last TD though.
- Something needs to be done about Josh Simmons' penalties. He may have only had the one false start, but it's still really annoying.
- Glad to have Trey back. He looked as explosive as ever tonight. May have been the best game of his career.
- Chip had a rough missed blitz pickup against PSU. He had a few really good ones tonight and overall I thought his blocking was solid.
- Opening second half drive for Ohio State. Third and four. Pass to Chip and he fought really hard for the first. Huge play.
- Marv is a cyborg. Crossing routes to him seem to be unstoppable.
- Carnell Tate is already a really good blocker.
- Julian should have caught the one deep one, but it wasn't the best-placed ball either. Fleming gets most of the blame there for sure though.
- No Cade Stover yards tonight. Never would have predicted that one.
- The defense was dang good again.
- I thought some of the substitutions were a bit odd. Not sure what the deal was with Proctor early on but he played a lot as the game went on.
- He seems like a great kid, but I don't want to see Cam Martinez on the field unless it's special teams or we are up 70-0 against a random MAC school.
- I believe Tyleik and Hall were taken out for a bit in the redzone at the end of the first half. I have no idea why LJ continues to do that.
- The goal-line defense at the end of the first half was spectacular.
- I'm a fan of any play that involves Sonny Styles blitzing.
- Defensive backfield was good again. Really hope the Ransom injury isn't serious.
- Not sure many snaps he saw, but Hero Kanu flashed again (he had a great stop in the 4th quarter).
- My Labrador Retriever is almost 12. He has cataracts, diabetes, and he’s on thyroid & heart meds. I’d rather see him coaching special teams than Parker Fleming
